FOLLOWING TREATMENT

After a Plinest treatment, expect minimal downtime, with common side effects like mild redness and swelling typically subsiding within 48 hours. Proper aftercare is crucial to ensure optimal results and avoid complications.

Immediate Aftercare (First 24-48 Hours)

  • Do not touch or rub the treated areas to prevent infection and irritation.
  • Avoid wearing makeup for at least 12 to 24 hours.
  • Apply a cold compress (like an ice pack wrapped in a clean cloth) intermittently to reduce swelling.
  • Sleep with your head elevated using extra pillows for the first one to two nights to minimize morning swelling.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, which aids the healing process.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and swimming to prevent increased blood flow to the area and the risk of infection.
  • Do not consume alcohol and avoid blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen and aspirin (unless advised by a doctor) for 24-48 hours to lessen the chance of bruising. Paracetamol is a safe painkiller if needed.

Ongoing Aftercare (Up to 2 Weeks)

  • Avoid direct sun and UV exposure (including sunbeds) and use a high-SPF, broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily to protect the treated skin.
  • Avoid intense heat treatments such as saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers.
  • Use a gentle skincare routine with soothing and hydrating ingredients; avoid active ingredients like retinoids, AHAs, and other harsh exfoliants for 5–7 days.
  • Do not have other facial treatments like chemical peels, waxing, or laser therapy for at least two weeks.
  • Do not massage or manipulate the treated areas unless specifically instructed by your practitioner (some protocols may recommend specific massage techniques).
